One of these days I’m going to do a reading challenge of the great classics, once I finish everything else on my reading list. But until I have the free time to read a lot of heavy literature, I’m going to read Les Mis in my free time along with the fantasy and science fiction I’ve started recently. I don’t call it a haphazard bookshelf for nothing!

The rules for Teaser Tuesday, hosted by Miz B of Should Be Reading, are simple:

  1. Grab your current read
  2. Open to a random page
  3. Share two “teaser” sentences from that page (without spoiling the book!)
  4. Include the title and author so others can find the book if they enjoyed your teaser

This week’s teaser:

“This man came very near being a monster; he had not exactly voted for the execution of the king, but almost; he was half a regicide, and had been a terrible creature altogether. How was it, then, on the return of the legitimate prince, that they had not arraigned this man before the provost court?”
